How do we do that? Here’s how:
We emphasize the importance of character development, not just academic achievements
Over the years, PPIS began to develop a curriculum with Character Education at its core – with the understanding that character development and academics need to be instilled hand-in-hand. Creative and critical thinking, grace and social skills and building a child’s self-esteem are part of preparing a child for a complex world and society.
“Nadiah is doing well in school. She's in primary 4 this year & is in the top class for the cohort. She was Best in Malay in P1 & P2. She has represented her school for Malay interschool competitions for 3 consecutive years. She is also a prefect. PPIS definitely played a part in nurturing her. She used to be soft spoken and shy when she was younger. I noticed when she was in K1 she started to talk a lot & was happy to share stories about her activities in school, teachers & friends. In K2, she was then picked to be the emcee for the PPIS end of year concert in 2013.”

We make learning fun and enjoyable.
Does your child look forward to going to school?
A child’s first few years are critical to forming impressions of the world around them. These early childhood experiences will leave a lasting impact on their future, whether education and school is seen as a positive and happy experience or a negative one. Whether a child has a passion and motivation to grow and develop their knowledge is dependent on how much they enjoy their early learning experiences.
At PPIS, we recognise that a warm and conducive learning environment is important for your child, and we strive to make every learning opportunity a fun and enjoyable one!
Our Teachers don’t just teach, they inspire.
To us, a teacher is not someone who teaches reading and counting, but someone who imparts life lessons and inspires big dreams. We hold our teachers to a high standard, because we know that they impact your children every single day.
4 attributes of a PPIS teacher
Our teachers love what they do. It’s not just a job to them, it’s a passion. They give their best, knowing that every child can develop their best potential when they feel loved and respected.
Our teachers work hand-in-hand with parents. You can always have a chat with them over the phone, email, and during drop-off or pick-up times for updates on your child’s progress, not just on the ABCs or 1-2-3's, but also in
their holistic growth and development.
As a firm believer of continuous skills upgrading, we encourage our teachers to consistently update their skills and experience. A minimum of
20-hours of Continuing Professional Development training is a requirement for all teachers at PPIS.
Storytelling, games and outdoor time are all ways that our teachers use to make learning fun! They also understand that every child learns differently, and that they need to be creative and flexible to adapt to every child’s individual learning styles.
“I was blessed to have passionate and dedicated teachers back when I was in PPIS at Playfair, some of whom I still keep in contact long after I graduated.
I remember back in K2, I had difficulty learning patterning because I just could not understand the concept at that time. My teacher patiently helped me learn the concept by changing and modifying her teaching strategies during her one-to-one time with me. When I still could not get the concept, my teacher used everyday items found in the classroom that I was familiar with to teach me. When I finally managed to grasp the concept, I felt so enlightened and excited that I would find things in the classroom to practice patterning.”

We’re not just a school, we’re family too.
Because even after 35 years, we’ve not forgotten what’s most important in those precious early years – it’s not just about learning, but the joy that comes with it. It’s why we make sure every learning experience is a happy one, so that you can have peace of mind knowing that your child will enjoy going to school every day.
“PPIS Bukit Batok is really like a school before they enter primary level with canteen & playground. The teachers were friendly and dedicated. We could tell that our children really enjoyed themselves. In fact, I remembered that my girl cried on her last day of school because she loved her teacher who taught her from Nursery to K2.
Overall, I am very happy because all my children have graduated from tertiary education and are well – mannered. There were too many moments to remember and now I’m looking forward for my grandson to be enrolled in the same centre as his parents. I’ve got several nephew and nieces in Bukit Batok Centre now. “
